Near the start, a drawing was held for several gifts at the edge of the stage holding a beautiful Christmas tree and a rocking chair in which Santa would later sit. A young boy realized that he held the number just called. He went forward and carefully chose a strange gift, a stunning ³Hannah Montana² doll. Returning to his seat, he handed the doll to his little sister. Gleefully, the children reacted with "high fives" for each other. May we all be blessed to so understand Christmas this season. |

The Boys & Girls Club was the venue for trophy presentation to the participants of BOOKVILLE. Also, it was a good-bye and good luck party for Mr. Darryl, the King of Bookville. Kelli Wolk, Russ Wood, Mark Barbour and Bob Feinstein have been with this program for 2 years and have taken it to new heights. The kids who participate are very lucky to have these role models. The kids read assigned books, are broken up into teams, and actually discuss the theme of the book vs. skimming the surface. |
